Default What to do?possible pregnant hedgy

My female hedgehog is almost 7 months old and i tried breeding her with my male last december 8, im not sure if shes pregnant or not but she got heavy, looks like her tummy got big and her nipples was clearly seen unlike before, so i assumed shes pregnant, i counted the days and its her 35th day since the breeding happen, i cleaned her cage 2 days ago to prepare for her possible babies, i even put 2 food bowl for her so i wont be able to disturb her, i peek in just a while ago to check and she was running around and trying to climb her cage(note: i didnt open it and the cage is securely close, i only peek in the small holes for air) and then after like 3 hours i peek in again and shes in her house, i noticed that her food bowls are inside her house, i was just wondering if i should remove the food bowls which are in her house or not, and if so how can i put her food in?can i just put them on the floor of her cage? Im hoping she gives birth later because its her 35th day today, or i might start to think shes not pregnant at all

You need to read over the breeding and babies thread. Babies can come anytime up to 55 days after breeding. You also will need to give fresh food and water every single day so putting two dishes in there is not a good idea. What do you mean you can only look in through small air holes??? A cage needs to have good ventilation so you should be able to see into it easily.

Do you have a pedigree on your female and male?? Did they come from reputable breeders? Do you have a mentor you can call anytime day or night if there is a problem?

If you can't answer yes to these questions then you shouldn't be breeding these animals.

Yes the cage has good ventilation, its just that i read that peeking often is not advisable so instead of opening the entire cage(i use a bin btw) i just peek on the ventilation which is a small hole(not just one but many holes for good ventilation) i dont know about pedigree, i dont think there is like that here in the philippines, but i made sure that they came from reputable breeders before buying,

How many days ago was she last with a male? It can take up to 55 days before a pregnant hedgehog gives birth.

You have to wait for 55 days after she was last with a male before you can be sure she isn't pregnant. I told you this when you first posted.
