Default Advice needed for a 5 1/2 week old hoglet

I have a little girl hoglet that is losing weight now that Hannah is starting to wean them. The hoglets are 5 ˝ weeks old and the other four are gaining weight like crazy! I see all of them sampling the food and water, but this little girl seems to have no interest and just wants to keep nursing. She started out at 74 grams at almost 5 weeks and then has now dropped to 70 grams. The other hoglets are between 90-110 grams, so this little lady looks tiny compared to the rest. The past few days the little girl seems to be hovering between 70-71 grams. My big question is – should I start syringe feeding her?? I separate the others for a couple hours twice a day so that she gets alone time with mama, but I haven’t seen a change yet. If I should be syringe feeding her – should I use the baby hoglet formula or since she is older should I crush up the Royal Canin baby cat food and add water or goats milk??
In the cage I do offer several things for the hoglets – baby cat food softened with water, baby cat food softened with goats milk, dry baby cat food and a homemade chicken/babyfood mixture (which they haven’t touched yet, Hannah eats all of it). I am really hoping she starts catching on to eating “big girl food”…..
Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

When you seperate the rest at about 6 weeksish leave her with mom till 8 weeks. If its a girl you can keep her with mom longer as long as boys are out by 7 weeks. 4 grams is not a lot of loss I have a girl that's 800 after a poop she's 770 so. I think your ok just let her stay with mom.others can be pushing her away also so you can seperate at 6 week so they dont

You can give her some goats milks. At 5 weeks she will probably lap it up on her own. When you have her out for socialization time, offer her a small dish of it and if she won't try it, wet her lips with it so she gets a taste. You can also try dampening some of the kibble with the goats milk for her. If she won't eat it on her own, you can syringe her.

Leave her in with mom when the others are out for playtime and I'd keep her with mom after the others are weaned.

Oh, Beautsbelle you are such an addict!! (I want to know if there are more pictures too, please.) I think this is more of a hedgie addict support group than a discussion forum. I really need my baby picture fix, though.

I want one of her babies SOOOOOOOO SOOOOO BAD! I am trying to get a cage set up that would work in my small house. I may just have to start completely over with Roxies set up and do some kind of a stack. I saw a critter nation on craigslist, but the owner has not gotten back to me. They are super close and it would be perfect as it is the two level kind. Waiting patiently to see if he sends a reply.

Sigh..... but yes, I do need my baby picture craving taken care of.... lol
