Male hedgehog having trouble breeding

So I put two of my hedgehogs together (the female has bred before) and she was extremely receptive and he was very interested and it took only minutes for them to mate. However, he ejaculated all over the bedding (I attached a picture of it) and I doubt he actually got anything in her because she was totally dry when I picked her up and checked right afterward. When should I try putting them together again?

I also have a younger female I'm trying to pair him with but any time he gets near her, she hisses and I've never seen anything happen between those two or heard him squeak chasing her like he does with my other female. Can I do anything?

How old are your hedgies? Do they have clean pedigrees going back 5 generations that are clean of WHS? Do you have a mentor? If you do, that's who I would talk to first.

Breeding is not an endeavor that should be done lightly. It should only be done after careful, thorough research, and with the guidance of an experienced breeder. With any animal, breeding ethically should be the priority. It's not fair to the animals you're bringing into the world otherwise.
