Default Getting a pinto - what should I expect?

I'm getting my first hedgehog soon, and the breeder told me that she is a pinto. What does this mean? I looked at the color guide on HHC but there's only one picture of a pinto. If you google pinto hedgehog, it shows really different looking hedgies. I understand that pinto basically means spots. Do pintos usually have darker eyes, or ruby? Pink skin, or dark? Does anyone have a pinto that they can post pictures of? I'm just extremely curious.

This seems to be a common misunderstanding that people have - Pinto is just a marking, it just means there are patches or spots of white along with the color. Pinto markings can show up in pretty much any color of hedgehog.

Both of my boys are pintos - Sherlock is a ruby eyed cinnacot pinto

Watson is... well I've not really thought about it, but guess a dark grey/grey pinto.

Yep, it means that the hedgehog will have some patches of pink skin with white quills growing out of those patches.. or that the hedgehog will have some colored quills in patches with mostly white quills on the rest of their body, I think those ones are considered reversed pintos.. you're right though, when I found out that the hedgehog I was getting was a pinto I looked in the color guide on this website and only saw one pinto picture too.. it would be neat if they updated it to include different types of pintos.. my hedgie Paprika is an Algerian chocolate snowflake pinto :P

I love Paprika's coloring!

I'm not too picky about what mine looks like... it might sound a bit shallow, but red eyes kind of deter me. I think it's kind of natural to be thrown off by animals with red eyes, because it's not the "norm". Either way though, I'll love her just the same, and I'll be happy with whatever she is.
