Pinto is just a marking- it means without pigment.

So on a hedgehog, pinto markings are areas of skin that is satin-pink, and quills growing on it are pure white or cream (in the case of algerian).

That boy looks Algerian Grey Pinto.

Algerian- because of the cheek patches, Grey -would be his official color, and Pinto would be some markings.

However, if he is under 9 weeks old, then he is too young to determine an official color, and most dark hedgies fade.

Hope this helps!

Fleece! Newspaper is not the best as the ink on the paper has chemicals on it tht can harm your hedgie. I reccomend fleece because it cannot harbor mites, and is soft on hedgie's tiny feet. You could order them from a great sewer nikki here:http://www.quillsnthings.webs.com or you can make them by just getting a couple yards and laying it in the bottom of the cage. I know that a ton of people here would also recomend fleece!

Newspaper is not a good choice for bedding. Most of us here use fleece liners, you can buy a few yards at the fabric store and cut it to fit your cage. Some people use a single layer and some use several layers sewn together. Shavings are ok if you get the aspen but they are messy, costly and can carry mites.

Edit sorry for the repeat was posting at the same time lol.
