Default Tri-Color?

So a few years ago (maybe two) we went to a local show here, and on the registration form it mentioned something about a Class Seven; Tri-Colored hedgehogs.

I have never seen one, and I readily look at other breeders herds, and I haven't seen one listed there as well. Is this a future coloration that may happen? Are there actual tri-colored hedgehogs in existence? Has anyone seen one? Have a picture of one?

I've never heard of such a thing =P

Maybe they just included it in the event that someone manages to come up with a tri-colour?

Thats what I was thinkin'. I don't know why they'd already be put into a class, especially for show... if theres none of that kind to show.

Also in class seven is "Confetti". Thoughts? ;p

Like, I could understand what a tri is; but Confetti!?!? Random white quills mixed in with banded ones? But wait, we already have that! Its called snowflake... Is it an extension of tri, meaning that the three colors are similar snowflake, with three random banded colors appearing throughout?

I don't really understand why they'd already have them separated into a class, without anything representing them pour le classe. < Confused.

I have never seen or heard of an actual tricolor hedgehog, and considering the (rather) limited mutations we have so far, I'd say it's a far, far ways off til we have anything that'd resemble that.

Yes, I've heard of tri-colour but there hasn't been any discussion about them in numerous years. The focus seemed to go to whites and pintos rather than the tri-colours.

What exactly did you hear? That it was possible, or a breeder was working on producing it, etc? Its kind of odd that there would have been no focus upon it?

Is tri even likely? LG suggests its a far, far possibility. I think I read elsewhere that people were working of creating blue-banded hedgehogs. How long does the development toward one color usually take? Perhaps then we can figure out the development of tri.

That was around 04 or 05 and I can't remember exactly. I don't remember if there were actually tri-coloureds or if someone was working on it. Maybe Deneen remembers.
