Default How many spots?

How many spots does a hedgie have to have to be considered Pinto? Gunther has two, two to three inch spots of pure white. One on each side of his body. Does this make him pinto? If it was a horse I could tell ya all about what defines the color breeds but lost on the hedgies.

Just one. If it has even one white spot, no matter the size, the hedgehog is a pinto. This includes any little spots without pigment that are somewhere besides the quills, like a little pink spot on an otherwise black/brown nose.

They only need one spot to be a pinto, as long as the skin under the quills is pink and not dark.

It only takes one tiny spot. And it doesn't even have to be in the quills. I had a boy that was registered as a pinto. He had only one tiny pinto spot, and it was located on his nose. He was classified as an Algerian grey pinto. Beautiful Algerian grey color with a pink nose.

Well, it appears that all of Gunther's skin is pink. and some quills are brown and white banded, the other spots like I said earlier are all white. fairly large patches on either side of his body. His face however has a very dark mask.
