Hi! I live in Sparks, NV! We are neighbors! If you don't have the money to buy a hedgehog, I am sorry to say you shouldn't have one. Hedgehogs are very expensive to care for because they are exotic so their diet, habitat, enrichment, and vet bills all add up. May I ask what disability is? I am sorry if you don't want to discuss it. Hedgehogs are not social creatures so if you are looking for something as more of a therapy animal, hedgehogs are not a good choice.

There is no reason to be negatiive and you may be surprised many are revoking for free k just ordered a bunch of stuff from Walmart and I'm going to.do my best As far as being a therapy animal my dog works just fine. I have many different disabilities Including some brain damage and seizures

I assure you no one is trying to be negative, in fact Poppy_the_hedgie worded that quite nicely. I think that we all just don't want you to end us with a sick hedgehog and not be able to pay the vet bill. We see quite a lot of that on here, and it's very sad. The reality is that most hedgehogs don't go through life without having some kind of medical issue be it a respiratory infection, cancer, mites, or WHS.

Any one that is considering a hedgehog needs to have a vet fund in place, $500 is considered the minimum amount to have on hand for vet expenses. I'm not sure what you got from Walmart but many of the supplies can't be found there. CHE's, thermostats and good quality food for example.

I am sorry if I came off harsh to you. I just, like Prue said, don't want something to happen to the hedgehog and then it is helpless because you can't provide for it. Because we live so close, if you would like, you can PM me and I can tell you the stores where I got my fleece, food, thermometer, toys, hide, and other little things. The rest of my supplies was purchased off Amazon. I can also help you find a breeder.
