Exclamation Baby hedgie FINALLY coming home!!!

Well, ever since I got Rhododendron, I have only been posting questions that have arised with her, plus I've started a new part time job. Last Tuesday I celebrated my 22nd birthday and my hubby took me to Build-a-Bear. Around that time, I got an email saying that my time on the waiting list for a baby hedghog from a nearby breeder is up! I've been waiting since November for a baby!!! I have been keeping up with the breeders' facebook page and have been anxiously waiting for an email. I am considering this my late birthday present, even though he was supposed to be a Christmas gift. I originally wanted a hedgie from a certain mother, whose babies are often algerian chocolate, but all the ones from her most recent litter were already reserved and she gave me a list of those not yet reserved from other litters and upon seeing this little guy's pic, I could not say no! For those who have seen some of my other posts, he is going to be named Pindsvin, and here is a picture of him from the breeder's fb page.

I am going to pick him up today!!! At about 4:00pm. Have everything ready, and I mean EVERYTHING! This topic will have all my thoughts and pics showing him off! I am also going to talk more of course, but right now I am seriously hungry! Let me know what you think of him based off the pic. Apparently he is the runt of the litter, but is very healthy. If he stays small, I'll just love him all the more (can I over love ? ) Wish me luck with this new little guy!

SUCH A LITTLE CUTIE! Congrats! He does look a bit on the small side how old is he? You should probably post more pictures once you get him home as we all would probably love to see...so exciting!

Oh he is soooo precious! He does look really little but maybe thats an older pic? Dia's mom had a huge litter and my breeder wouldn't let her go til she reached a certain weight plus age. A week before I was to get her, he said that I might not be able to pick her up til later because her weight. Then 2 days prior he said she had a growth spurt and I could get her! It was sooo exciting.

This is an earlier pic of him. The breeder waits until they are over 6 weeks and over 100g in weight. On Sat. she weighed him and he was just barely over that (104g) and very lean. However, over the weekend we gained a great deal and filled out (the breeder was waiting for his growth spurt, she said). He's 124g now, and doesn't look near so lean. I hope I got my numbers right. We got home at about 10pm because of the bad weather (from Winona, MN to Northern Iowa was almost a 2 hour drive on a good weather day). So when I got home, gave Pindsvin a bath and put him in his new cage, and went to bed about 11. I woke up about 5 times between then and 6am (when i usually get up) and checked on the cage temp and to see how he was doing). I was so worried about the stress he's going through (I have a vivid imagination and can imagine what the poor thing is feeling) and he was clicking and chirping while I was giving him a bath (it was his first bath ever) and when I put him in his new cage, with our t-shirts, he kept making those noises even after I left the room.
This morning, i noticed he ate alot of his food, and when I checked on him, boy did he curl up at first. Despite all this and my worries, he is EXTREMELY mellow compared to Rhododendron. He only balled up to me this morning, and it was only for a minute or two before he uncurled and began sniffing me. No popping sounds yet and very little huffing compared to my rescue, who goes on for about 5 minutes before she calms down (at first she's never stop, even after an hour of holding her). The breeder said he was with a very mellow foster mother (his real mom cannibalized her first litter and the breeder didn't want that happening again) and the breeder said he's been the mellowest of his litter. My hubby going to handle Rhody until Pindsvin settles in (don't want any more stress than he needs) and she's now in our den (in a different part of the house) while Pindsvin is housed in our library (where he was going to be to begin with). My cat was freaking out that there's another one to take my time away from him, and he's right to complain :P because this little guy is the one I've been waiting for, for a long time (I won't neglect Treben, but he's just a very clingy cat). With Rhododendron, we have a very stable routine set up for, so she's all settled in and is getting better and better (still has a long way to go but paitence is a virtue). With all the waiting I've done, putting him in our schedule doesn't seem to be a problem, since he'll need much more attention than Rhody (who's pretty much a loner, but likes to explore) and hopefully will become a cuddler with his mellowness (he'll do much better sitting on my lap while sewing and stuff than Rhody). It's so strange having two, when I only expected one, but it's amazing already to see the major differences in personality. If anyone asks, no they are going to breed, I know they are never to be together, and Rhododendron is over 2 years old (and never had babies, so that could kill her).
I will post pictures hopefully tomorrow, but right now I am so tired!!! I shouldn't worry so much, but he's just a baby, and a baby is a baby, no matter what it is. I can't help but worry.

Pictures!!!!

I am really bad at doing all the stuff necessary for posting pictures on this forum, but I am posting everything via my tumblr so here's a link to my pictures on Pindsvin.

My breeder said he is currently a silver. He has a dorsal stripe. I can't remember what else she said, but color really doesn't matter to me really so I am not so up and up on all that. I remember wanting an Algerian chocolate to begin with but that's because that coloring is what I think of when I think "hedgehog"....Tell me your thoughts
