Default I went to get one Hedgie from the HWS, and got 2 :)

I met Shelia from the Hedgehog Welfare Society yesterday, and she's a wonderful person who does great things for not only the hedgehog community but other animals as well. After being introduced to several of the adoptable rescues she has, I couldn't decide who was coming home with me....So I brought 2 home, and boy am I in love.

First is Ollie- He used to live with a family who surrendered him. He's a big boy- weighing in at over 500 grams. He's doing great- very active little guy.
He's not so sure about his change of environment, so he's been huffy and popping a lot, but he'll be fine
I was entertained to come out this morning to see his cage rearranged by him to his liking.

Here's some pics of him:

Next up is Miss Treasure, and she's about as sweet as pie. She's a pinto girl, who was also an owner surrender because they didn't want to drive to the pet store anymore. What's up with that?
She's always out, as never huffed or popped, and seems to be a genuinely happy hedgie. In fact, she's cuddling with me on the couch right now.

I've got both their cages set up, and they seem to be doing just fine. I'm letting Ollie be, so he can adjust to life at my house Treasure seems to have moved in and is doing her thing with no issue.

SO interesting that they really do have their own personalities- Each one is VERY different
I'm really happy I was able to rescue. I really had no idea that there were hedgehog rescues, until my friend informed me. Love being able to give 2 hedgies a second chance

Awe.....thank you for helping these hedgies. Ollie really looks like an Ollie. So cute! He doesn't look so huffy. I think he'll settle in nicely. And Miss Treasure really is a treasure. <3 It's so nice that she is very comfortable with you. I can't believe someone would give her up because they're tired of going to the pet store. That can't be the whole story, but we'll probably never know. Best wishes with your beautiful babies.
