Default Cold outside

Okay so idk if this lady uses a green screen or something (doubt it her photos look super real and normal) but her Instagram is @mr.pokee and she always takes photos of her hedgehog outside in with snow and ice in the background! Which leads me to my question, can hedgehogs be outside in cold weather for a short amount of time? Because I don't think they can and this lady makes me sad

My guess is she just takes the hedgehog out into the cold weather for short spurts to get her video. This is a horrible idea, in my opinion, because hedgehogs can attempt hibernation when they get too cold. Risking your hedgehog's health and wellbeing for a pretty picture just isn't worth it.

They're not likely to risk hibernation from a minute or two out in the cold, but they could potentially get chilled & risk a URI from it. It's not a good idea, at all. The only time a hedgehog should go out during the winter/cold temperatures is for an absolute necessity such as a vet visit, and they should always be sheltered in a carrier with heating in it & a blanket over it.
