Default Athena's first day home!

I brought my little bundle of joy and spines home yesterday. I was prepared for what I had read on here as well as other resources, where a hedgehog will be overwhelmed, need to be left alone, and may not eat a few days.

To my delight, the exact opposite happened!
Athena had been comfortable with me since I first went to meet her at the breeder's house about a month ago. She loves exploring me (my neck seems to be her favourite, even though I am extremely ticklish) and seemed content running around the living room while I kept a close eye on her. She had some dry poo on her so I figured a bath was in order. Once again, she was perfectly okay with this, seemed a bit grumpy at first, mostly from the moving around, but once she was in the water, she stuck her head out, sipped some of the water, and uncurled and relaxed. I toweled her off and held her for about an hour afterward.

This morning I got a bit of a scare when I saw she wasn't in the baby blanket I had put her to bed in, nor was she in the "Inn" I made for her. She was buried in blankets in a tiny ball. I picked her up to make sure she was warm enough, and she relaxed once again, and slept sprawled out once I put her back. I have heard of hedgies being grumpy when you pick them up, but it seems to make her much more relaxed.
She is so lovely!

Fitzgerald gave me a somewhat similar scare a few weeks ago. I went to his hutch and he wasn't in his usual sleep sack...or his favorite hide...or his tunnel. I was getting ready to panic when I bumped his igloo and heard a grumpy little huff. I'm not sure what got into him that day, but it's the only day I've ever found him there.
