Default Mealworms and Sonic

Well, my Sonic just starting to warm up to me at least.(After biting me twice and licking my hand). I just got 15 pieces of mealworms from the my pet shop when I'm going back to school and I tried to get one of them. Sonic was pretty active at that time so I just dropped a mealworm in the cage. I think it's strange but he didn't eat it, even now. I thought mealies were hedgies' favourite? Care to enlighten me?

Sometimes it might take a few days for them to be willing to try the mealworm. It happened like that with my Col. Mustard, she agreed to try it on the 2nd night, and then she loved it!

You can try to cut the mealworm in half and offer it to him, so he can smell the juices... yum!

Or you can just keep trying by leaving the worm there overnight and see if he eats (just don't leave the same worm everynight, of course, considering it's dead it can rotten out.)

Good luck!

I offered mealies to my Cholla about 6 times before he actually ate one. Then I slipped one in his food bowl overnight. Don't know if he meant to eat it or if it was an accident, but it was gone the next morning. Ever since then, he goes crazy for them.
That being said, Sonic may never like them.

My Cricket seems to be about 50/50 with mealworms. I've had her for about a month now. I try putting them in front of her & she more often than not will sniff then ignore them. If that doesn't work, I usually put them in on top of her kibble in her food bowl. Sometimes she eats them, sometimes she doesn't. I'm waiting for the "ah-ha! I love these!" moment, but so far it hasn't happened.

Well, I dont know if he ate it but there's supposed to be something moving everytime I look in the bowl, and the next day, it was gone.
