During the day, our Briar is cuddly and sweet. He's active, enjoys petting and treats. But if we try to take him out during the night he rolls up and hisses and pops and makes a big deal of "I'm under attack!!" Is this him just saying "leave me alone, mom. I just want to play on my wheel!"?

That's pretty common. If Pig hears me walking around in the middle of the night he'll freeze on his wheel and then dart into his sleeping pouch. Like day time is social time and night is hedgie personal time.

also I love that your hedgies name is Pig. We call ours Pig as a nickname sometimes.

Thats funny, because the only time me or the gf can hold belle is when she's out at night and she will run over to my gf. It's really funny
