Default A very Comfy Hedgie?

Hi!
So I got my first Hedgie! She is a darling. I noticed that today she didn't hissed at me when a picked her up. So that is great. After the first night she moved from her little home into my shirt to sleep in! (!! Proud Mommy Here!) I've had her for like 5 days now.

Though when I pick her up and place her against me, she will sit there and won't move? Sometimes she does go out and exploring but 90% of the time she will sit on my lap, to then move (50% of the time) to the crook of my elbow and fall asleep there. Or when she doesn't move she will just lay there and eventually fall asleep. I must admit it is really cute and somehow it feels great she trust me to sleep in the crook of my arm etc. She even sleeps in like half a moon shape, so not even curled up into a ball, that is good right?

I was just wondering, is this normal? Or just did I get really lucky and have a Hedgie who wants to sit with me?

She is very active at night in her cage etc. Eating/drinking is also normal. She eats a lot actually. (haha) In the picture you see her sleeping on my belly. Also! I never pick her up during the day time. After I hear her rumbling in her cage, like around 7PM I take her out to watch tv shows together.

Totally normal behaviour! Some hedgehogs are more exploratory, others are more cuddly. Yes, her sleeping on you sprawled out is totally a sign of being comfortable and trusting you.

Almost all of Sophie's time with me is spent sleeping; in my shirt, behind my back, in her hedgie sack at my desk . . . . Most of our 'interaction time' is during her three-a-week mini-baths. That's the only time that I'm allowed to pet her very much.

Great behavior! And you haven't even had her that long! she sounds like a real sweetheart. Most hedgehogs like to cuddle.

Oh yay! Thank you, that comforts me a great deal! She does hisses a bit when I pick her up or when I make a sudden move, but I guess she will get over that too eventually! So great to hear this! I was a bit scared she was maybe getting ill.
