Default Changes in habits now with a new male hedgie?

So nutmeg is acting strange. Ever since we brought little moose in the house she has developed strange habits. Every night when I bring her out she will stick her nose in the air like she's looking for something. She's gained 12 grams is 4 days. Last night she took her paper towel into her sleeping area. She has absolutely have had no physical contact with moose. I have supervised them every time I have them out. They have always been separated. I'm not sure whats going on with her. It makes me extremely worried.

(Side note she is known for gaining weight fast or lose it fast, she has done this in the past.) she has been checked out from a vet for this.

That just sounds like hedgehoggie stuff to me. It could just be she is trying new things! Just like you develope different habits over time, so will she!

Are you worried that she may be pregnant? Or just about how she is affected by the new hedgehog?

Well for over the year that I have had her she has never acted so strange. She has always been extremely clean and doesn't like to have pee or poop where she sleeps. Yet she ripped up her paper towels that had poop and pee on them and put them in her bedding area. It's not normal for her to stink like urine in the morning at all. I may just be paranoid since I know there is a big chance of her dying during birth if she were to have hoglets. Since she is older. But I know she hasn't had any physical contact with him. It's just strange she is active so differently. I think if may just be she can smell him and she is reacting to it in her own way.

How close are their cages? I know I've seen the breeders on here comment that they never had issues with having males/females cages near each other, but I wonder if she can smell him and it's inducing ovulation somehow? I would think closer contact would normally be required, but...Or maybe not actual ovulation, but it's still provoking the behavior change. I would wait and watch...she may calm down & go back to usual once she gets used to his presence.
