Default Random change in behaviour

I’ve had Oreo for about 5 months. He use to not use the wheel in his cage and would run in the playpen I have for him. I’ve since changed the wheel and we loves it but barely runs in the playpen now. I’ve also changed his food twice (didn’t like the first one and isn’t crazy about the adult cat sized kibble so I’ve mixed it with the kitten size) but I’ve noticed he’s not eating a lot, maybe 10 kibbles or so. He’s overweight so I’m not worried about him starving, and I give him a little fruit once a week (the vet said to limit as much as possible) and when I notice he isn’t eating I hand feed him, cause I heard not eating can cause something bad in there organs (can’t remember exactly). I guess my questions is 1- is the exercise change ok since he’s still moving and 2- should I be concerned in this little amount of eating?

Exercise change is okay. Not sure about the eating though.

If he's running more on his wheel then it's normal for him to be less active in his playpen. Did you switch his food all at once or slowly? If you switched it a couple of times quickly then that could explain why he's eating less. Hedgehogs don't do well with sudden changes in food. They need to be slowly switched from one to the other over about a month.
