Default Exercising Hedgie

Hi all!! I have a 1 year old hedgehog, and have had him for a couple months. He has always been so active on his wheel, and nowadays for a week or so I haven’t seen or heard him running on it. His nails aren’t too long to be getting in the way. Could it be the new heat lamp I installed a few weeks ago? Any advice or ideas I’d appreciate! 🙂

Is it a CHE or a standerd heat lamp that gives off light? If it gives off light it will affect their behavior at night.

It gives off a blueish-purple light to mimic nighttime so as not to disrupt his schedule. Should I switch to one that gives off no light?

Yes you need one the only produces heat no light. Any type of night no matter how close to night time it may be will disturb the schedule. Your hog will likely go back to running loads after you swap it to one the only produces heat no light.
