Question Antisocial Normal?

Pablo isn't very social. He's ok with me sometimes. He lets me tickle his belly a bit, but still doesn't really interact. When I set him on the floor he likes to explore, but it seems her is more interested in finding a hiding spot. With other people, he usually won't come out of his ball. Is this normal? Is there something I need to do if not? Where is his mental and physical health most likely at, normal or not?

Some hedgies are explorers, some aren't. Sounds to me he's not the exploring type. My boy's like that too so I always make sure to have a snuggle sack for him to stay in while bonding.

Hedgehogs are social by nature, its takes a lot of work to get them social with us. Some never open up but sounds like he has a bit with you which is good. Its totally normal to not unball with people he doesnt know.

Hedgehogs love hiding, you need to learn what your hog likes as well, as said some love exploring and some dont - Pablo doesnt seem to like exploring, so try bonding with him wrapped in fleece, or a snuggle bag/pouch on your lap or next to you and see if he prefers that.

You don't need to worry about it. This is just a part of his character.
