Default Depression??

I used to own 2 hedgehogs male and female. But just recently the female passed away, they had always been together despite what everyone told me. They never fought, and never mated while in my care. They had a former owner. The female was only at the age of 2 when she passed away. I am not sure why though, she was healthy and there wasn’t any physical wounds on her. But now the male doesn’t want to eat or drink, doesn’t walk around, all he does is sleep. I’ve tried to get him to roll around in his ball but he doesn’t have any interest in it anymore. Is it possible he has some form of depression? And if so what are some methods I could use to get him into a better mood.

Hedgehogs are great at hiding illness she could have had something and you not notice until she died.
Anyway the male could be pining for her or could be ill, you will need to start syringe feeding him as he isn't eating and syringe some water too as he isnt drinking, theres nothing for activity you can do.
I think you should find a vet to rule out any illness in case it is this rather than just putting it down to depression which it may be but it may not be.
