Default Does Sleeping Count as Bonding?

We have had our new hedgehog Spike for almost a month. He is 2 years old and his previous owners just didn't spend enough time with him, so he is fairly skittish, in addition to just still getting used to us and his new home. He is getting more social and likes to crawl on us, and if we hold him in our lap on the couch, he will snuggle up and chill there, or fall asleep right next to us. But, when we let him explore on the floor, he'd rather find a random corner and fall asleep. Does this still count as bonding, even though he's not directly interacting with us?

Yes sleeping on or next to you still counts as bonding, thay are still around you with your smells, if they sleep it mostly means they trust you.
This is how me and Holly bond because she's a big cuddler but doesnt like playing much outside of her cage.
