Ok so i know hedgies are typically loners and prefer it that way but i can't help but feel that he doesn't want to be. I have a 3 yr old male hedgehog that i got at 3 months old, he used to play with one of my rescue squirrels before they were released but has had no interaction with other animals for the most part. We got him a stuffed hedgie for Christmas that he brings with him to eat and sleep. Is it possible that he is lonely or does he just really like his toy? Any advice would be helpful

He probably just likes his toy. Males don't like to have other hedgehogs around. In the wild they'd only be around another one is for breeding. If you got another male he'd fight and they would try to kill each other. Obviously if you got a female then there would be the issues of pregnancy.
