Default Toy trouble !!!

Okie last weekend I got Onix some cat toys and even one with cat nip in it because I thought maybe the smell would make him attracted but he just doesn't want to play with them i don't think his is easily amused because it is very hard to play with him or get him to do anything but run on his wheel, eat ,poop and sleep. I don't know if im doing something wrong or if it jusst him being a dull hedgie lolz

Some hedgies are just not playful

Kashi will sometimes push the empty film cannisters in his cage around, but for the most part he is just a cuddler. He doesn't usually play, so I'm trying to find ways to enhance his environment right now.

You could try other things, like hiding mealies around his cage, etc and see if any of those make a difference ^_^

Yeah, he's probably not used to you yet ^_^ Kashi wanted nothing to do with me at first, either. But then I bribed him with lots of yummy mealies and kept forcing him to be around my presence Now when I take him out he will find a comfy spot on me to sleep and cuddle (out in the open) If I put him on the floor, though, he'll just run back to where I am... What a scaredy cat

Hehe Kashi sounds like a adorable hedgie. I hope thats just what it is. I'm planning to get another hedgie a girl im naming her Zelda. I'm get her at the end of the school year so I'll have all the time in the world to bond with her and Onix.

Try putting a couple empty toilet paper tubes in the cage and see what happens My guys pretty much ignore toys but they will spend hours with a toilet paper tube stuck on their heads.

Remember two hedgies means two cages, and they can't even socialize together unless you're planning on breeding them. Especially with a male/female pair, even if you were planning on breeding them they can't be kept together or they will kill the babies and they need a fairly long time apart after the little hoglets or you'll stress the female.
