Default Gloves WARNING

so my new hedgie gave me quite a scare today. I let her walk around in what I thought was a safe area and she climbed into a glove. I thought nothing of it until I realized she was struggling. You could tell she couldn't get out and when I would try to grab her she would expand and get more stuck. We had to cut the glove to get her out. My questing is; would she have been able to get out on her own and if not this is a warning to all of the dangers of gloves!

Sorry to hear about what happened but glad it ended good and that you were able to get her out. It is possible that they could get stuck and not be able to get out. Some gloves are made from a knit so if they puff up the quills can poke through and then when they relax it tangles the fibers onto the quills. Thicker gloves like leather or other heavy materials might make it hard to cut away so that would be dangerous too. Glad to hear it ended good though and that you were able to rescue her. Ty for sharing the warning because tis the season for gloves and such to be around

Good warning, and thanks for sharing it. The same caution could be extended to socks, slippers, etc. too, I'm sure. I know socks have been cautioned against since there's usually so many loose threads on them that can get caught on nails, toes, and legs. Glad your girl is okay!

Have to watch sometime for loose thread on T-shirt collars. My GF has a few older shirts that Hitch gets his little nail caught in a loose loop of threads and it's not a whole lot of fun getting him unstuck. We are very vigilant to make sure that there is nothing for him to catch onto.

Thanks everyone for your concern and I hope this thread helps people. I had no idea about the socks, slippers and even t shirt collars. But then again it seems like they can get caught on anything. Once my Adeline was just walking around on my lap and got her nail caught on my pants. It sure is hard getting their little nails out of caught threads.
