Default would this make a good dig box?

i came across this when looking on their website for toys i could get for my upcoming hedgie.
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=24729

i know dig boxes are great for them so i know i want one i just have not decided, which way i'll make it or what i'll get.
this looked like it would be fun for the hedgie, getting to burrow through and under all the balls.. my only thing is that i would block the holes on the sides so he wouldn't "fall/crawl out"

would the plastic balls be a problem? i can't imagine they could get their mouth around it.. but i don't have experience with it.. so i'm looking for input from someone who might have an idea wether this is okay or not. thanks.

That looks awesome! As long as the balls don't have a sharp plastic seal on them I don't see the issue.
I agree it looks great for burrowing.

How big is the hole opening? Ferrets can squeeze into small spaces hedgehogs can easily get stuck. And if they get stuck, their quills keep them from being able to back up out of the hole.

So check the size of the hole, otherwise looks good.

the holes are 3 inches in diameter. my plan was to cover them anyway

Thank you for asking I saw this the other day and was thinking of posting about it. I was thinking of depending on what kind of material the box is making the holes a bit bigger and then using the pvc tubes.

I actually really want one for Willow now
I love the idea of possibly making the holes bigger is need be and using PVC pipe.
Do you think they would sell them at a pet store? I looked on ebay and found nothing
