how many hedgies do you have?

they dont seem very well known as pets over here!
Many people use sterilite bins (the clear plastic bins) for their hogs. It is perfectly acceptable as long as it has lots of floor space, and you provide lots of ventilation.

I would say that a lid is preferable, just as an extra safety measure. I have had my hedgehog climb out of his sterilite bin (before I had the critter nation), by climbing on top of his house and then climbing out of the bin.

Make sure that your hedgie has at least 4 sq ft of space if you get a bin It'll probably be difficult finding one big enough that's actually clear.
