Default another treat question

If you want to give chicken as a treat, it should be cooked and plain. No seasoning etc. Right? I was also wondering about carrots. Do they need to be cooked or can they be raw. Hazel had some apple a couple weeks ago but other than that she just eats her mealies. Any other tasty and simple suggestions?

Yup, cooked, un-seasoned chicken is perfectly fine. Norman always gets a little bit of mine whenever I make it (or grab a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store). Same goes for turkey, but since I live alone and have no idea how to cook one, it waits 'til a special occasion and my mom cooks one. I made a best friend when I brought home the leftovers. Fastest way to earn the trust of a hedgehog you've had for 2 days? Give 'em turkey!

Some people have said their little ones love strawberries. You may end up with a pink hedgie after they decide to anoint with them though.

You should get Hazel to tell Norman that apples are tasty. He doesn't even recognise them as food.

She ate the apples once. She seemed to love them but then she snubbed her nose at them. I hope I'm not jinxing myself but Hazel has not annointed yet. I'm hoping she just doesn't. I'm not sure if that is possible.

Not annointing? Possible...but not likely...sorry...

uuummm...trying to think of all the things Snarf has ignored: bananas...cooked beef...cucumber...celery (no strings)...peanut butter (teeny amounts)...eggs (boiled, scrambled)...shrimp...various herbs (annoints & makes a green gooey mess but won't eat)...

Stay away from any seasoning/preservatives (no lunch meat), raw meat/fish, citrus anything, hard foods that might become stuck on the roof of the mouth (nuts), some say no dairy; some say a little dairy is okay (hedgies tend to be lactose intolerant); grapes are a no no!

There's more...brain is fried...

Really.....She has not annointed yet! I have tried hard boiled eggs too. No luck
If they haven't annointed by 13 weeks will they and when might it happen?
