Default Won't touch food?

So I just got my little Moose on Sunday. He's been eating very well and has been very active in his cage. So tonight I gave him a few pieces 2-3 pieces of my mix to slowly start transitioning him from his breeders mix to mine. Well now he won't touch his food. He will sit and eat what ever I put in front of him. But not his old food. I can't say I liked what he was being fed as much as I like mine but it's not terrible. But I'm not sure what to do. Nutmeg didn't have this problem. I don't want to up-set his tummy. But he prefers my mix so much over his old one.

I'm a bit confused can you clarify?

Your last line that he does prefer the new mix you are giving him...? Or do you mean he will only eat the food from the breeder that he was on?

It sounds like he won't eat his old stuff now that he's tried the good stuff and you're worried that not being able to slowly transition him will hurt his tummy? His digestive system will probably be out of whack, but if he won't eat anything else, there isn't much you can do. Continue trying to mix in the new stuff and hopefully he'll catch on.

Sorry if it's a bit confusing. But yes, will not eat his old food. He will lick each piece of food in his bowl and if it's his breeders mix he will leave it and lick the others until he finds one piece that is in my mix then gobbles it down and anoints.

Ahh that would make more sense! I was wondering why him liking the new food was an issue! There's no way to force a smooth transition and it really may just mean some green or wet poops for a while. I've said it a million times...hedgies are SUCH little divas. He says "I LIKE THAT NEW FOOD REMOVE THE OLD RUBISH, HUMAN!"
