Gaining healthy baby weight or fat?
My baby is a little over 2 months old now. She was the runt of her litter. I saw her sister the other day and she looks pretty small compared to my hedgie. I am concerned that perhaps my HH is gaining too much weight too fast or do some grow faster than others or (worse!) I'm doing something wrong? Here are the comparisons I saw:
Her sister was/is eating hedgehog food, whereas I feed mine Wellness.
The hedgehog pellets are very small and they fill a 2 oz. bowl to about half to 3/4 of the food everyday.
I crush the Wellness pellets because I'm concerned it might be too big for Sourdough, but I fill the same 2oz bowl to about the top at night time and i put maybe a bit less than half before I go off to work in the morning.
Her sister runs on the wheel daily and mine doesn't. My Sourdough runs on the wheel on random days.
Sourdough doesn't seem to have any excess baggage underneath her belly or any near her legs, from what I can quickly tell before she squirms.
I'm just concerned because she is finishing everything I put in the food bowl, but I dont see the running wheel splattered with poo all the time, and I dont want her to be obese. Do you have some suggestions?
