Default Dubia Roach Babies

OK SO I DONT KNOW WHERE TO PUT THIS BUT IM PANICKING!!!

I bought dubia roaches last week, like everytime. I bought four dubia roaches.
Today I was planning on giving Igor his weekly dubia...but when I lifted the egg cardboard, there were small things that looked like seeds at first, but they they started moving.

I realised these were babies. Roughly 30, an estimation. Now, I’m worried. Like, so worried.

How fast to Dubai’s grow? Can I separate the babies from the mother? Cause I have multiple females and I have no clue which one is the mother.

Now I did the calculations and I didn’t mate the female, seeing as they are pregnant for atleast 65 days. And I don’t keep my dubias that long.

I’m panicking, I don’t want to tell my mother this happened, cause she might freak. I can’t kill the babies cause.. I just can’t. I don’t know what to do. Any advice?

I don't know anything about this issue, but maybe feed your hedgie the little ones? Or take it back to the pet store if it really worries you.?

First off; don't panic. Honestly, I'd celebrate - free food for Igor.

Dubia roaches dont rear their young in the same way a hedgehog does. They lay their eggs, and when they hatch, they are fully independent from day 1. They don't grow super quick, i think it's something like 1/2 cm every month, so considering you have a small colony you arent going to be overwhelmed anytime soon.

Multiple females isnt a concern; it's great actually, as the more females you have, the more productive your colony will be.

You can feed your hedgehog any size dubia roach. So, there really is no need to panic - if you breed your own roaches, it's a great way to save money. I've started breeding my own morio and mealworms.

Thank you very much. That’s a great relief. I’ve got a small container I keep the roaches in at the moment, but my mom said she’ll buy me a bigger one at the end of the month. I’ll then have to transport them. Any advice on how to do that?

There are plus minus 30 nymphs.

You can literally just dump them into the new container. Or, if you use egg carton, and if it's dirty/needs to be changed, you can pick it up and shake it into your new container; the dubias will drop off it.
