Unhappy Help!!!

Hi all!

I have a few questions. My hedgehog seems to be eating and drinking less but is acting normally everywhere else. She does not seem to be losing any weight, but I do not have a scale. They tend to be expensive. I do not want to rush her off to the vet because we do not have any good hedgehog vets near us or that are available that are not outrageously expensive. Any suggestions for vets in the Colorado Springs area would be greatly appreciated. Also any tips in general. Thank you guys so much!

Check the temp. Sometimes a couple degrees will change their habits.

The temperature is at 75F, should I raise it a few notches? Also any vet suggestions for the CO springs area?

I wouldn't put up the heat too much just change it it by one degree and see it that changes anything. Leave it at each upped degree for a week.because you dont want to go shooting right up and then have to work your way back down.

It could just be they want to eat less for a while and then go back to eating and drinking their normal amount the next week

My hedgehog did not eat, drink, or run on her wheel last night. She may have eaten a few kibbles, but not a lot. My dog has recently started sleeping in my room, maybe this is stressing her out? If not, what are some good vets in the CO Springs area?

Try, either moving the hog or stop the dog sleeping in the room and get rid of the dogs scent and if that helps at all.

I don't know any vets in your area but maybe you could google some? Or check the vet section to see if there is anything for your are on there?

I am pretty sure Holly attempted hibernation because I discovered that her heat lamp had gotten switched off when I was cleaning, so I turned it on and warmed her up very quickly with a heat pack. Her belly was cold and she was all curled up but she unballed and was curiously sniffing around right after I warmed her up. The heat lamp is back to normal and she has a little extra heat with her. She ate some food and drank some water that I fed her. Keeping a close eye on her
