Default Uh... What's this?

Ok, so, today I bought my boy more mealworms, cause, uh, I ran out, and I just went to give him his daily dose of worms, but I caught this guy instead... Now its obvious its not a normal mealworm, since the guy next to him, is an ordinary one I grew to know...

Could this be a superworm that got mixed into the mealworms? Is this a worm on steroids?

Its noticeably alot darker and bigger than a mealworm, and I'm scared to feed it to Igor, since I know superworms can bite. So, I'm asking of anyone knows if this is a normal mutanized mealie, or is it a superworm or some other species?

- the light one is the normal mealie,
- the dark one is the weird guy

Hard to tell from the pic, but it could simply be an older mealworm. I have some in my colony that are large and darker in color than the others. Nothing wrong with feeding them. I don't usually feed them, as I'd prefer to give two small ones instead of 1 large worm.

It looks to me like an old mealie. Super worms tend to be wider than that, this one is still pretty “lanky” just looks stretched out almost

Oh great, thanks! My worms usually pupate when they're light, so this is the first time I've seen an older mealworm. Never too old to learn something new huh 😄
