Default Chubby hedgie!

I was told that hedgies under 4 months old need the extra fat to grow correctly, so is it too early to start switching him over to reduced fat cat food? He's around 3 months old.

Also, these are the foods I'm going to switch him to, are they okay?:

They don't absolutely need it, but the diet for a baby/young hedgie can be higher in fat than is normally suggested because a lot of it goes toward the growth they do in that time. But, if you use a lower fat diet, it's not going to have any adverse effect. Those foods are great, but they're both under 10% fat - which can be perfect for some hedgehogs, but too low for others. If yours is already more active and uses his wheel a lot, he might need a little bit higher. You can try them out and just keep an eye on his weight; at 3ish months he should still be growing, but more slowly compared to when he was younger, so some weeks of staying around the same is to be expected. However, if you notice that he's losing weight, that would be an indication that you should increase the fat content by adding another food - such as a third food that's around 14-15% for 1/3 of the diet, to balance against the other two. For now, just try it and see. When we got Archimedes, he was on Chicken Soup Light (9% fat) starting from 6 weeks old, and he had no problems.
