Some of you may recall that in the past year I have gone through 3 CHE due to them breaking during travels or apartment remodelling.
Well I just went to check Annabell's cage & the temperature is low, but the thermostat green light is on. I put my hand near the CHE, nothing - no heat. I try screwing/unscrewing it, flicking the switch, still nothing. Then I plugged her day lamp into the themostat, which doesn't turn on. I try it in the other thermostat plug, doesn't turn on. The dang thermostat is still running the green light but not sending any current to the plugs to turn on the CHE!!! So now I need a new thermostat. Urg. Add that I had to order that one in (for some reason the stores here don't carry thermostats). |

Erg! The CHE broke AGAIN!!!! Thursday night we're sitting in the living room and hear a loud POP. Checked her cage, nothing out of the ordinary. Checked again later & the CHE was cold. Everything is unplugged now. Of course I'm now in a rural area & the petstores around only carry reptile heating pads & not CHEs. Trip to the city is in my future.
What CHE do you use that you've had good luck with? I've been buying ZooMed from Pets Unlimited but if I have to keep buying a new CHE every couple months, I'm gonna go broke! |
