Hey guys, so on wednesday Bobo is getting his CSW and we are moving him from the bathroom (we keep him in there because his comfort wheel is wayyyyyy too loud to be in the bedroom with us) where it's really warm, to the bedroom where the temperature varies. So, I obviously need to get him some sort of heat source to make sure he doesn't get cold. I am switching from a guinea pig cage to a C&C (i think that's what they are called??? the things with the cubes that you can arrage however you'd like). So, I want to get a heat lamp but am not sure what kind to get. I have a Petsmart store near me that I will be going to pick one up along with some new accessories and toys and wanted to know if you guys have any suggestions or if there are certain requirements for the lamp that i should be aware of? I would like to be prepared for Bobo's big move
![]() Thanks!

I have 2x2 C&C cages for my girls and I recommend 150w CHEs. It can get very cold in my bedroom if no one is home but the 150w keep the cages very warm.
Then you will want a 10" clamp lamp, that will spread the heat better than a 8.5". And finally you will need a thermostat, I recommend the Zilla one as it has the numbers on the dial instead of just colors. Keep in mind that most pet stores don't carry the thermostat in stock so you might have to order that online. I got the two I have from Amazon... $29 I think? I'm on the phone so can't post a link, sorry. ![]() ![]()

If you can't find a thermostat at Petsmart (I couldn't) and don't want to wait too long for shipping (I live in Canada, and usually things are shipped from the USA, therefore longgg time XP), try calling reptile/aquarium stores. I found mines at Big Al's.
I have a 2x2 C&C cage, with a 100W CHE (which is not very strong, I'm upgrading to 150W), a wire clamp lamp and a thermostat. My CHE is by All Living Things, and I'm not sure if it's the brand or the wattage, but it's not very 'warming'.
