Help finding heating? Thank you!

Hello! I'm new here, and going to be a first time hedgehog owner in a few weeks.

I just had a question about heating:

I am very concerned that my house won't be warm enough (especially later on during the colder parts of the year!) and I've heard that a heating lamp is a good idea. BUT what heating lamp should I get? I've been looking around and I've found that Ceramic Heat Emitters seem to be the favorite, but where can I get them and how much money do they generally cost?

In addition, should a thermostat be bought as well? And if so, where can I find one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

You would need a ceramic heat emitter bulb, dome, a thermostat and thermometer
All of this you can probably get at your local pet store, but it can get quite pricey. I would buy everything online on amazon or ebay, it's a lot cheaper it will only take a little while to arrive but it's well worth it

i tend to go to petsmart / we luv pets for my supplies, since they are the closest to me. they have the lamps and the bulbs, but i got both my thermostat and thermometer on amazon. so you can basically pick and choose where you want to get everything. (:

i think i got my clamp lamp at a hardware store because they were cheaper there, and you are getting the exact same lamp. i think they can be anywhere between $5-$10 depending on where you go. the CHE bulb itself is $30 from my petstore. i think the thermostat was around $20 and the thermometer was around $10-$15

so in the end its a bit pricey, but i think its worth it to know that your hedgehogs will be kept at the right temperature. (:

Make sure when you get the light fixtures for the bulb that it says on it that its rated for a CHE, many aren't.
