Unhappy CHE Wattage Requirements

I have a plexiglass cage that is 38"W x 20"D x 22"H. I plan on getting a ceramic heat emitter today and need to know what wattage I should get (e.g. 60w, 100w, 150w). Does anyone know what wattage would be the best to get?

You'll probably want two for a cage that size. Two 100w with 10" lamps should work, but it also depends on the temperature of the rest of the room. If it's under 70ish normally you may have better luck with 150w.

If it's a plexiglass cage that's quite enclosed though, that'll hold heat in better. I would think two 100-watts would be plenty, if it's not a very open cage.

With a plexiglass cage, you should not need two emitters. One 100 watt emitter should be enough unless the room is very cold. I've even used a 60 on a wire cage that size. Do you have a thermostat to control the temperature.

Sorry, must have skipped over the plexiglass part straight to the dimensions!
