Default Odd heating

So, I am pretty good with most things in hedgehogs, but the heating is now confusing me and I really can not work it out!
When I got it it worked fine, after the summer where it was too hot for it to pulse heat it's been heating weird!

Right so facts
- Holly likes 26-27, so I set the thermostat at 26 maybe a little over to get this temp.
- I have a 100w bulb.
- Its a habitat pulse thermostat and it is a bit over a year.
- The che is exactly perfect middle, which u can see in the photo we also measured to make sure
- The probe is by the wheel - see second picture (excuse the mess hadn't cleaned yet)
- I have 2 thermometer one on each side sitting in the same place at the end of the vents - both reading different temps!

So with the thermostat set at 26, the one on the left reads 27-28 and the on the right reads 25-26
With the thermostat set at a bit above 24, the left one reads 26-27 and the right 24-24.5
Okay so you're probably going to say "have you checked the thermometers" well yes I have, I have swapped them over so they are on the opposite side, says the same thing, I have taken them and put them somewhere Ik the temps and they read that temp so it's 100% not the thermometers!
Put them both in the middle and they are still out - see last pic

So I've tried to figure it out and I really cant, and really need some help! Because I want her heating to be right again! She sleeps in the hide under the che, doesn't really go to the right side of the viv much now.

I can't help with the heating, sorry. But I just wanted to say that Holly's habitat is adorable!

Hi Ria, your losing heat on one end faster than the other. Could be many causes, drafts, one end looks like it is close to a wall and the other is out in the open .The wall could be a cold wall or a hot wall ,depends on what is on the other side. You might try taking temps on the out side of the pen and see what that shows. Sometimes the items in the pen will help retain more heat oround them, warm rock /cold metal for example. My pen keeps better heat in the section with the house and heavy crockery bowls than the section with only her wheel in it.

Drastically faster apparently.
Okay so my room generally sits around 18-21 (I want it higher but my radiator isnt working)
The wall on the right is an exterior wall, the only place that lets in a draft is the wall opposite the enclosure the window is shut but I think it lets the cold in somewhere!

Taking both thermometers out and putting them on each side outside the enclosure the left one (wheel side) says 21 and the right (wall side) reads 20.2

The enclosure I have is supposed to retain heat well all the way through.
So theres a 1 degree difference outside, but a 2 or 3 degree difference inside.

That is a puzzle. I would have expected a larger temp difference on the outside from one side to the other and a smaller change on the inside.

Gets better, got my radiator sorted.
Now the left side (with the wheel) sits at26-26.5 and the right (by the wall) stays at 26.5-27
Outside both sides say 25 ish

Honestly its so confusing!!

It must have been the external room temp interfering then. At least you got it sorted, but for anyone else facing the same thing, you need to adjust room temperature or up the wattage of the bulb & it should help in solving the problem. Alternatively, using 1 bulb on either end would give you more stable temps!

I did do that as one of the first things that I thought to do, the wheel side went up to 28 or more, the side near the wall stayed the same temp.
Made me even more frustrated with it!

Just got her really active and then the temp started doing that making her lazy again!
