Default Lazy hedgehog/ heating question

I’ve had Quinn for about 4 years now. She’s always been kind of lazy since I got her any recommendations on how to get her more active?

Also another question.. I have a heat lamp for her it has the red light bulb I’ve read that doesn’t have any effect on nocturnal animals is this true?

They hate the red light bulb! Get a CHE. Does she have a wheel?

The red light bulb disturbs their day and night pattern. And makes them not want to come out to be active at night.

If she has always had this bulb that's probably why she is "lazy" she just doesn't think its night time so isnt going out to be active. Try changing the bulb to a che - ceramic heat emitter that produces no light of any kind. And see if that makes her more active too.

Thank you both! She does have a wheel.. when I got her the pet store set her cage up with a wire wheel and she does use it sometimes but after reading some post on here I’m going to get a different wheel. As for the heat lamp I’m definitely going to change the bulb! she didn’t always have a heat lamp so I’m not sure if that’s fully the reason why but I’m sure it’s not helping.

When its changed it will be easier to tell, and also see if thats causing it. The facts its a wire wheel might not help if her toes keep poking out the bottom the may feel unsafe and thats causing her to not want to use it much, which will contribute to her being lazy.
