Hi!
What are some ways to keep hedgies cage cool in the summer?

I've put a piece of tile in the cage for my hedgehog (the one in photo is travertine but porcelain is fine too). It will be cooler than the surrounding area (unless you stick it right under the heat lamp).

How warm is it getting in your cage (as opposed to the rest of the house)? My cage has gotten as warm as 82F but Mecki doesn't come out to "cool off." His favorite hide has stiff sides so the fleece isn't wrapped around him like it might be in a snuggle sack.

It can get to 85 in here. She loves blankets but I might try her igloo again if she is too hot. I don't know how to tell though lol

Our cage is low to the floor, so while the rest of the room may get warmer, the cage seems to get no higher than the 82F. Have you read the inside of the actual cage?

An ice pack at the top of the cage to cool the air would help. Well it helped in Holly's

You can also try having a fan on in the room blowing onto something cold, not directly at the enclosure but it could help worth a try.

Holly is a great name for these little ones
