Default A.C in the Summer?

I have a CHE lamp on over my hedgies cage and now that it is summer, it has not been on. I check the temperature hourly and its always around 75 degrees. Its getting too hot in my room where I keep my hedgehog, right now I have my vents blocked off so no air conditioning will get through and it's been closed since I got her. Would I be able to open my vents a little to allow some cold air into my room also putting her lamp on so she won't get cold? Are there other ways to cool my room down? I would really appreciate any feedback. Thank you

I have my AC vents cracked open in the room where my Hazel is (it's southern Arizona...we gotta have the AC on at least some!). I think the key is making sure that there are no drafts hitting the cage, which can be harder then one might think, and keeping an eye on the cage temperature. I don't recommend using a fan to cool the room, as those generally create more drafts then a slightly open AC vent.

The other thing you can do is purchase a piece of tile from a store like Home Depot or Lowes. Your hedgehog can then "splat" on the cool tile if she gets too warm.
