Default Heating a Ferret Nation cage

I'm looking for a new cage for Penny and I really like the Ferret Nation cage, but it looks hard to heat. I have a CHE set up with my current cage, which is on the small side, so I only use one 8.5 inch lamp. CHE is my preferred heat source. Do I need two lamps for the FN? I was thinking about getting a 10 inch lamp and lining three sides of the cage with coroplast to keep the heat in. I was wondering if anyone would share describe their FN + CHE set up so I could see some examples to help me decide what to buy.

Hi there,

I currenlty have a double level ferret nation set up. I will take a photo for you hopefully tonight.

The top level has a 10" Dome with a 100CHE bulb in it and a partial cover. The bottom level I've installed a 10" dome with a 100CHE on the shelf insert within the inclosure, and the bottom level has a cover on 2/3 of the cage.

The CHE's are tip tied, the thermostat is positioned in the bottom level as for some reason it gets cooler on that level than the top...

I will post pictures asap.

I have 8.5" and 10" domes with 150W bulbs on the Reptitemp 500R for my Critter Nation. It works fine for me (my room is a bit colder, it's around 71F or so during the night, so I keep the cage at 75F).
