Default Heating in a multi-level cage

My hedgehogs new cage is three levels all safely leading to one another, but how would I go about heating the whole thing, I have a ceramic bulb heater in his one level cage and I haven't moved him into the new one. I was thinking of putting his bed on the top with the ceramic heater over it, the middle floor would be his food and the bottom would be full of yesterdays news and his wheel. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them!

It would really depend on what the temperature is at each level. Do you have a thermometer for each level so you know the exact temp? Without knowing the range, it's hard to know how many CHE's you may need. Some people have one pointed at each level from the side, while some are ok with just one lamp pointed from the side for multiple levels. You would probably have to attach the lamp to something other than the cage, so that it can be tilted to point at the cage from the side, so that all levels can get some of that heat. With only the lamp for the top level, the lowest level with the wheel might be too cold(especially since heat rises and cold air sinks) and can trigger hibernation attempts when your hedgie wakes up to wheel/eat/play.
