Toenails and a pink butt

So I had a few questions and thought I could just combine the 2 in one post:
1.) Slash is an extremely active hedgie and I was wondering...How can I get him still enough to cut his nails?
2.) My bf gave him a bath today and noticed when he was drying his belly that his booty was a little more pink than his skin. Is this normal???

If you cut your hedgies nails in the tub they wont ball up. The pink skin could just be from being wet?

His butt kinda looked raw and I don't know if its just suppose to be that color or if he has an upset stomach or something...

Is his poop okay? and has he been pooping regularly?

Do you mean his anus? Or the rump area? The anus will look red sometimes right after they've had a bowel movement. Since most hedgies poop while they take a bath, that might be why. I wouldn't worry much about it unless it doesn't go away.

The rump area can get pinker if the water is warmer than usual.

He's been pooping A LOT! I'm not sure what's regular for hedgies but his poop is brown and about the size of a eraser head and it's soft. I don't think its the actual hole that is red...more like the area around it. I haven't had a hedgie before nor do I know anyone who does so I'm not sure what is normal hedgie behavior. He is pretty much asleep every time I go to check up on him but occasionally I will catch him out doing his business and eating. I know for a fact he runs the heck out of his wheel because of the condition he leaves it in...
