Talking Green gooey pesto-y dark mucous-y poop. HELP.

So, my baby, Dexter, is getting worse again. His bald spot is getting worse and his skin is unbearably flaky. I took him to the vet AGAIN on Monday. She tested for mites (AGAIN) negative, and is now doing a fungal culture (which she didn't do before). She thinks it may be ringworm. Yum. She put him on antibiotics. Twice a day for two weeks. The pink bubble gummy kind. Also she gave me some miracle spray. Vetericyn VF.

My issue is with his poop. First, I'll tell you all I was officially initiated as a hedgehog owner. I got pooped on.

Now, for the problem. He pooped on me and it was very gooey and part of it was a really dark color and the other part looked identical to pesto. Yuck.

Is it the antibiotics causing the weird poop or is there new reason to worry???

Sometimes hedgies poop greeny when they are stressed out or a new food is put into the diet. the antibiotic could be upsetting his tummy, or feeding it to him could be stressing him out.

Has he been treated for mites? If not, even with a negative skin scrap it is possible he has mites. I'd treat him anyways and then mites are 100% ruled out. Revolution is safe so it's worth trying.

Yes, the green yucky poop is probably antibiotic related. Make certain he is eating by counting his kibble.
