Default Does her size look ok?

Can you guys take a look at Pearl here and see if her size looks ok? She is all puffed up in the picture so it makes her look bigger than she really is, but seems to be a big girl for only 12 weeks old?!

Not much experience here, but she doesn't look overweight at all to me. She looks like a normal tear-drop hedgie shape. She's probably just a larger framed hedgie is all.

Did you look at the picture on the link? She's the last one pictured w/ the bright pink background.

She looks fine size wise, the things to look for in "overweight" hedgehogs is namely, can they roll up into a tight ball, extra skin in the neck and armpit area, sometimes they'll even form kind of a hump over their front shoulder blades. And of course being the fact that they come in all shapes and sizes. My first girl (rip) Vera was 230 grams. Hester, 656 grams though she is a touch overweight.

It's a little hard to tell from the picture. Like Lilysmommy said, she could just be a larger build. There's no real average for hedgehogs. From what I've read elsewhere on here, if she can roll into a nice tight ball without any difficulty, it sounds like she should be okay.

Thanks you guys. I feel better. We've just been letting her eat all she wants (kibble that is) since she is a growing girl. I wasn't concerned till I looked at all those other pics and she seemed so much bigger for her age than the others. She has no trouble at all rolling up. The food combo she's on is for nursing moms and babies, so the next batch will be regular adult food which is a little lower calorie. Thanks again!
