Default Oral Tumor

My hedge hog Pearl just developed a tumor as i found out about it just 30 minutes ago She hasnt been eating and has lost weight from it. What is your advice on making her as comfortable as possible until she is euthanized. Is there something i can do to help her eat because she cant use her jaw? Does anyone know the cost of the euthanization. We are on a tight budget and will do what ever is necessary but would just like to know so its not as much of a shock in the vets office.

Thank you for your time,

I'm sorry Pearl is sick. Are you sure it's a tumor? If a vet hasn't confirmed it yet, it could be something not as bad as a tumor, like a tooth infection for example. The only way to know for sure is to see the vet though.

You do need to have it checked out by a vet, it could be an abcess or even if it is a tumour it may be able to be removed. To help her eat you can give her soft food, or add water to her kibble to soften it.

Yea im almost positive it is, plus her jaw is all off set and she cant open it. Her mouth is very dark, almost like a infection. Its very enlarged and she has lost alot of weight. Im so worried how long shes been like this but it cant have been more than a couple of days. I gave her a full body bath a couple of days ago and she was fine. I read up on oral tumors and it says they come really fast. Sorry to go on but im completely devastated, shes my first hedgie and has been an amazing pet. She anoints from my clothing all the time and we've connected from day one.

Nathaniel, it may seem like a tumor, and it very well could be, I really dont know, but she needs a vet now. It may be something as simple as a bad infection, but either way the sooner you have it checked out, the better her chances are. Where are you, maybe someone can recommend a good vet for you?
