Default My hedgehog has mites?

Hedgewig and I went to see the vet and he found mites. He said to use newspaper as bedding and do the olive oil bath thing for a week, which I've been doing for like 4 days now... But my hedgehog's skin seems to be looking more pink?? And his fur shed a little bit (around 5 strands on my palm) when we were playing. Is this ok? Should I take him back?

Also, what advice can you give in case the vet decides to give him medication? I've read some scary stuff on ivermectin...

The only way to treat mites is medication. Ask for a revolution treatment

Yup, exactly. Revolution is the only safe medication. I'm surprised he didn't give you anything the first time

Vet will finally be avilable tomorrow after 100 years off. Already, my hedgie's fur around the ear has thinned, his appetite seems to have decreased and BOTH his eyelids look swollen and they twitch. My heart breaks every time I look at him. ? my poor baby
