Default Proper proceedure ? ADVICEE PLEASE

My hedgehog is sick at the moment and he has been to the vet for tests, but in the interest of his well being I wanted to get onto you guys t see if you've seen anything like this before?

His breathing has become laboured, he has a small growth in his mouth, he's developed black discolouration on his skin. And yesterday he spent the day throwing up. My vet suggested that we may be looking at cancer, at which point he advised he should be put down.

For anyone who has gone through tis what would be the most comfortable way to put him down(I really hope it doesn't come to that but i'd like to be aware of the best way to do it, with the least amount of pain for him)

Oooohhh I'm so sorry to hear about your sick wee one . I don't have any advice for you, other than as his mommy you will know what's right for him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for this. I would wait until the tests come back. If it does confirm your vets suspicions, I agree with your vet. I know that it would be hard, but you're helping your hedgie be in less pain. My prayers are with you.

If the time comes that he needs to be put to sleep the vet will know the best way to do it. Mine always gassed them first till they were unconscious then injected the euthanasia drug directly into their heart.
