Default URI and vet visit

The information on this site had me informed before the problem occures so after two hibernation attempts when the wet nose showed up, sneezing continued, and activity level decreased even more I susoected an URI.
So I took her to the vet today and I recieved some antibiotics for her. It is called SMZ/TMP.

During the week of her hibernation attempt her levels of activity decreased and before it wasn't that high I don't think but she was really young so I attributed it to that. Now, after she gets better from the URI her activity level should increase should it, not? Like a noticeable difference, yes?
AND if it doesn't what do ya'll think is the reason?

Hi there,

One of my girls was treated for URIs 3 times now but we didnt use the same antibiotic as you.

You might want to bump the heat up a little bit as they need extra warmth when sick. Also, if you aren't doing it already, start counting kibble so you know if she's eating and if her appetite seems steady. And make sure she's drinking too.

It might take a few days for the antibiotic to start working but once she starts getting better she should be more active and alert.

I had turned up the heat when she attempted hibernation up to 78 so I don't know if I should really go any higher than that. By the way, now that we are talking about the heat sometimes she will stay up in the loft which of course is closer to the heat lamp but somedays she will go under the loft where it is cooler and when i pick her up she is chilled, I guess you could say.
The question is this her getting to hot and going down there to cool down so maybe the heat needs to be turned down? OR is this her attempt at trying to hibernate again because when she went into hibernation the two times she was down there when it happened?

Oh by the way I do believe that she is feeling better. Her fist dose of medicine was yesterday and last night she was running on the wheel and then she would stop, get off, play around and then get back on. Sounds pretty good, don't it?

It's nice to know she was being active yesterday!

What's the temperature down under the loft, where it gets cooler? If there is a big temperature difference between loft and the other area, that might be causing the hibernation attempts.

I will move the thermometer under there and check it out when I get home. I wouldn't think it could be to way off but you never know. This brings up a question though, if it was colder under there and she didn't like it since hedgehogs like it warm wouldn't she just never go to that area?
(I don't know, it sounded kinda logical to me. )

Yeah it sounds logical to you, intelligent human, but remember that hedgehogs don't always make a lot of sense

Yah I figured that was kinda how it was. I guess she gets it in her mind that she wants to lay under there and she is going to whether or not it is warm enough. Stubborn little thing!
